CHIMERA project applied to the poster session of Ecomondo 2017 at the Conference: “Resources from waste: innovative solutions and environmental outcomes towards the implementation of a Circular Economy”. The Conference is organized by University of Bologna – “Energy and Environment” CIRI (Interdepartmental Industrial Research Centre), Environmental and Cultural Heritage Chemical Division of the SCI (Italian Chemical Association), Ecomondo Technical Scientific Committee.
Resources contained in the so-called “urban mines” will be increasingly important in the next years. The knowledge of material stocks and flows throughout value chains, the comparison of different scenarios of waste valorization, data collection and integration are needful tools to outline present situation and envisage possible future scenarios, comparing them from a life cycle perspective.
Surveys and studies about environmental implications of different waste treatments, proposal of new methods of collection and management, implementation of platforms for the exchange of resources, application of industrial ecology approaches and practices of industrial symbiosis, will constitute the scope of this meeting, that will highlight possible advantage from integration of best practices and technologies.
