Focus on the virtuous examples of the LIFE Networking Meeting, which took place at the Orsini Naro Castle in Mompeo (Rieti, Italy) on Saturday 25 September 2021, with the aim of strengthening the agricultural sector by focusing on the enhancement of innovative and replicable products, models and technologies. CHIMERA (LIFE15 ENV / IT / 000631), POREM (Life 17 Env / It / 333) and SOIL4LIFE (LIFE GIE / IT / 000477) were the three LIFE projects protagonists of the Workshop with the circular economy as fil rouge, analyzing the possibility of transforming some livestock residues from waste by-products into resources. During the event, insights were also presented on the topic: from the speech “Circular economy and sustainability in the management of livestock waste” by Prof. Antonio Boggia, of the University of Perugia, with emphasis on the difference among Linear Economy (Raw material – Production – Use – Waste), Economy of Recycling (Raw material – Production – Use – Recycling – Waste) and Circular Economy (Raw material – Production – Use – Recycling), up to the presentation “European Funding for the Environment”, by Costantino Raspi, to highlight the importance of European funds dedicated to more innovative projects that can become new business models for the market.
