On Thursday 17 March 2022, the CHIMERA team has organized the presentation of the CHIMERA project to ERSAF – REGIONAL BODY FOR AGRICULTURE AND FOREST SERVICES (Lombardy region; Italy)U.O. Monitoring of Agri4.0 policies and innovation of supply chains, with a comparison on issues of common interest, in particular on the circular approach in agriculture. During the meeting various characteristics of CHIMERA were highlighted starting from the limited size which makes the plant, unlike other solutions already on the market, also suitable for medium / small farms. Furthermore, during the open discussion phase, the importance of the “on-site” treatment of droppings emerged, particularly interesting from a health and hygiene point of view, eliminating the risks of contamination related to the transport of poultry manure. During the presentation, it was also underlined how the new technology allows to recover not only the ashes but also the dust of the fumes produced in the combustion process: more in details, at the end of the combustion, the ashes and fumes, passing through two scrubbers, they produce a muddy substance which, by means of a centrifuge, is separated into a liquid part and a dry part. The liquid part is reintroduced into the fumes treatment circuit, with an advantage in terms of water consumption by the system. The dry part can have the characteristics of an N-P-K fertilizer, for the cultivation of cereals, which form the basis for the production of feed. ERSAF is among the partners of Soil4Life with which CHIMERA has already started Networking activities (D2) in 2021, and of LIFE Agriclose (LIFE17 ENV / ES / 000439).
