CHIMERA (GA n. LIFE15 ENV / IT / 000631) and LIFE AGRESTIC (LIFE17 CCM/IT/000062)– have organized a networking presentation, aimed at sharing the mutual approaches of the two LIFE projects and identifying the common objectives. The event, which took place as online meeting on 7 July 2021, allowed an open discussion on complementary issues, in particular with regard to the aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, considering the EU target of reducing net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030 (compared to 1990 levels). Each year the disposal of manure causes the emission of 25 million tons of greenhouse gases: the CHIMERA project is equipped with a fume treatment plant to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases and contribute in an innovative way to the evolution of chicken manure management in poultry farms.
As well as one of the main objectives of the AGRESTIC project is the development of innovative techniques and tools for the management of crops and crop rotations in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to climate change mitigation, increasing the agronomic performances of crops and the economic sustainability of farmers.
