TEAM CHIMERA AT THE FINAL CONFERENCE OF LIFE ARIMEDA

The CHIMERA team participated in the final conference of the LIFE ARIMEDA project “Reduction of ammonia emissions in Mediterranean agriculture through innovative techniques of fertigation with sewage“, on 18 March 2021. During the conference, the fertigation techniques with sewage and digestate tested and the results obtained were illustrated; at the end, a round table followed to explore the possibilities of using the technique in operating conditions both in Italy and in Spain. CHIMERA came into contact with the ARIMEDA project, as part of the networking activity among LIFE projects: ARIMEDA aims at obtaining a significant reduction volatilization of ammonia when the slurry is applied in cultivated fields as an organic fertilizer. The main objective of the project was to demonstrate that in Mediterranean agriculture the application of the liquid fraction of slurry and digestate, diluted as fertilizer through innovative irrigation systems with pins and surface or underground drip, constitutes effective techniques to reduce ammonia emissions into the atmosphere.
